After many years at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, the Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapter officially closed its
longtime headquarters there on May 18 as the Museum begins an extensive renovation and expansion project.
The Wenatchee Valley Erratics will move BACK to the Museum once the renovations are complete.
The Chapter’s Education Department—our headquarters, presentation space, and equipment center—is now being temporarily relocated from the old museum
to the historic Wells House.
Internet access, presentation equipment, and meeting facilities are expected to be ready in July (2026), allowing us to resume our regular programs with an August presentation.
While more modest in size, the Wells House offers a unique and historic setting that reflects the rich heritage of the Wenatchee Valley.
During construction, we are grateful to have found a temporary home
in one of the community’s most treasured historic landmarks.
Built in 1909, the Wells House has served many purposes throughout its history,
including family residences, a junior college dormitory, classrooms, and administrative offices.
Saved from demolition and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it now stands as an important reminder of our valley’s past and a fitting home for the Chapter during this period of transition.
We look forward to welcoming members and guests to our new headquarters this summer and
continuing our mission in a setting where history remains very much alive.
The Museum’s ambitious “Branch Out” campaign will transform the Museum with improved accessibility, expanded gathering spaces, and interactive exhibits designed to better serve future generations.
